Uruguay

Trades that serve a country of three million, and no published price for outsiders.

Single student, all in — deliberately the same figure as the degree page. It is the same person living the same way; only the training differs. Compared at country level, so capital cities and large metros run higher. The price level behind it prices the basket residents buy, and a foreign renter cannot reach the cheap end of local housing — poorer countries may still sit too low here.

TuitionNo data yet

No figure recorded. No published fee schedule for a Uruguayan technical or specialist training institution charging foreign students could be found at tier 1 or tier 2, and no usable tier 3 figure was available either. See the Pathoff method, section 14-5.

Pathoff judgement directed by evidence, not computed from it: the country’s position comes from the World Bank household consumption price level for 2024 (0.729 of the United States, CC BY 4.0 — the ICP benchmark carried forward annually by the World Bank’s own method); the US reference budget is ours. See the Pathoff method, section 12.

Pathoff education rubric (the Pathoff method, section 9-2), special band "Locally useful only": Training serves the Uruguayan and regional labour market competently. No institution here is a name the wider industry knows.

Pathoff outcome rubric (the Pathoff method, section 10-3), special outcome band "A route that needs an employer": Judged on its own and it lands just below the degree route, because a vocational qualification gives no additional standing in the residence process and the trades are small enough that a job offer is the harder half.

What it is like here

Uruguay trains capably for its own economy — agriculture, meat, logistics, software services — and the technical institutes are free the way the university is. What does not exist is an internationally known specialist sector or a published rate for foreign students, and as with a degree, staying afterwards is a question of residence rather than of the qualification.

How the process works

1

Confirm the institution admits foreign students

The technical system is built around Uruguayan learners and does not publish foreign rates.
