What it is like here
Korean national universities charge international students a few thousand dollars a year, the engineering and technology faculties are internationally serious, and a graduate of a Korean university gets a year on the job-seeking status without having to pass the points test that everyone else does. The obstacles are language for most programmes, and a labour market where the step from job-seeking to a work visa needs an employer and an occupation match.
How the process works
Decide Korean-taught or English-taught
English-taught programmes exist and are growing, but they are a minority.
Student visa through the university
The university issues the admission documents the consulate works from.
Change to job-seeker status before the student visa ends
The first change after graduating is exempt from the points test.
