What it is like here
Argentina grants temporary residence to someone living on income from abroad for up to three years at a time, leading to permanent residence and to citizenship faster than almost anywhere. Public hospitals treat legal residents without charge. Set against that: from August 2026 non-residents are billed for hospital care, provinces are applying that differently, and the living cost on this page is blank because the World Bank no longer publishes the data to fill it.
How the process works
Evidence income at five times the minimum wage
Recurring, from outside Argentina, and routed through authorised financial institutions.
Temporary residence, then the DNI
The identity number is what makes banking, health and everything else work.
Permanent residence, then citizenship
Argentina’s qualifying period for naturalisation is among the shortest anywhere.
