Searched again in September 2026 and withdrawn. The Tsuji Culinary Institute is the right school to price and its own fee pages are gone: the Osaka course fee URL redirects to a path that returns not found, which is where a previous attempt also stopped. What is left is aggregators, and they disagree about the line this metric wants — one gives tuition of ¥1,026,000 for the 2026 intake and another ¥1,090,000 — and the second one also lists a compulsory practical training fee of ¥730,000 that the first does not mention. That last figure is why this is unknown rather than approximate. Leaving out a levy is defensible where the levy is administrative, which is why Germany’s semester contribution and France’s CVEC are left out. Leaving out the practical training at a cooking school is leaving out the course.

Section 12-5: thirty-two of fifty-two countries here publish no vocational fee a foreigner can check. Japan joins the list not because nothing is published but because what is published is second-hand and does not agree with itself.

World Bank, 2024, CC BY 4.0: the PPP conversion factor for household consumption is 99.3848 local currency units per international dollar, against an official exchange rate of 151.3663 to the US dollar. Their ratio, 0.657, is the price level against the United States, whose own ratio is 1 by construction. Both figures are theirs; the division is ours. See the Pathoff method, section 12.

분야 명성Internationally credible

Pathoff education rubric (the Pathoff method, section 9-2), special band "Internationally credible": Japanese culinary training and the animation and game colleges are recognised well beyond the region and their graduates are hired internationally on the strength of it. Short of the top band because outside those fields the vocational sector is domestic.

업계 진입The job-hunting status applies, but the job must match

Pathoff outcome rubric (the Pathoff method, section 10-3), special outcome band "A route that needs an employer": Judged independently. Unusually, the Designated Activities job-hunting status covers 専門学校 graduates as well as university ones, which is why this sits at the top of the band. It stops short of the band above because the qualification confers no right to work — an employer must sponsor, and a 専門士 must be hired into work closely related to the field studied.

The relatedness test is stricter for vocational graduates than for university ones, which narrows the route in a way the degree page does not face.

여기는 어떤 곳인가

Japanese culinary schools and the animation and game colleges train people the industries actively recruit, and vocational graduates get the same job-hunting status university graduates do, which is more than the Netherlands or Czechia offer. The catch is the work visa itself: a 専門士 holder must find employment closely related to what they studied, and immigration reads that relatedness strictly.

Check the school issues 専門士 and can sponsor a visa

Not every training provider is an accredited 専門学校, and only accredited ones lead anywhere.
