Single student, all in — deliberately the same figure as the degree page. It is the same person living the same way; only the training differs. Compared at country level, so capital cities and large metros run higher. The price level behind it prices the basket residents buy, and a foreign renter cannot reach the cheap end of local housing — poorer countries may still sit too low here.

Pathoff judgement directed by evidence, not computed from it: the country’s position comes from the World Bank household consumption price level for 2024 (0.873 of the United States, CC BY 4.0 — the ICP benchmark carried forward annually by the World Bank’s own method); the US reference budget is ours. See the Pathoff method, section 12.

Pathoff outcome rubric (the Pathoff method, section 10-3), special outcome band "A reliable route into the trade": Art, fashion and film courses are degree-level, so the unsponsored post-study route applies. At the foot of the band because that route’s length is under review.

What it is like here

For art, fashion, film and design the UK institutions carry names that open doors internationally, and the post-study work route applies here too. The catch is that international fees at these schools match full university rates for fields where early-career earnings are low, so the payback period is long and depends heavily on staying and working afterwards.

How the process works

1

Portfolio

Weighted far above academic grades at the specialist schools; many run a separate foundation year first.

3–9 months
2

Student visa

Same route and maintenance requirement as a degree, provided the institution is a licensed sponsor.

3–8 weeks
