Mauritius

A tourism economy that trains its own people, and does not publish a price for yours.

Single student, all in — deliberately the same figure as the degree page. It is the same person living the same way; only the training differs. Compared at country level, so capital cities and large metros run higher. The price level behind it prices the basket residents buy, and a foreign renter cannot reach the cheap end of local housing — poorer countries may still sit too low here.

TuitionNo data yet

No figure recorded. No published fee schedule for a Mauritian hospitality or specialist training institution charging foreign students could be found at tier 1 or tier 2, and no usable tier 3 figure either. See the Pathoff method, section 14-5.

Pathoff judgement directed by evidence, not computed from it: the country’s position comes from the World Bank household consumption price level for 2024 (0.429 of the United States, CC BY 4.0 — the ICP benchmark carried forward annually by the World Bank’s own method); the US reference budget is ours. See the Pathoff method, section 12.

Pathoff education rubric (the Pathoff method, section 9-2), special band "Regionally credible": Hospitality and financial-services training is known and respected across the Indian Ocean region and tied to industries that dominate the island’s economy. Mid-band because outside the region no institution here is a name.

Pathoff outcome rubric (the Pathoff method, section 10-3), special outcome band "A route that needs an employer": Judged on its own and it lands with the degree route, because the occupation permit is the same instrument either way and the qualification confers no separate standing.

What it is like here

Hospitality is not a sideline in Mauritius, it is the economy, and the training that supports it is real and regionally respected — as is the financial-services sector the island has built. What is missing for anyone applying from outside is a published fee and a route that the qualification itself opens.

How the process works

1

Ask the institution what a foreign student pays

It is not published, which says something about how ready the sector is for foreign applicants.
