World Bank, 2024, CC BY 4.0: the PPP conversion factor for household consumption is 2.0566 local currency units per international dollar, against an official exchange rate of 4.5984 to the US dollar. Their ratio, 0.447, is the price level against the United States, whose own ratio is 1 by construction. Both figures are theirs; the division is ours. See the Pathoff method, section 12.

Pathoff outcome rubric (the Pathoff method, section 10-1), early outcome band "A guardian must be arranged": No residence purpose exists for a parent accompanying a school-age child; the family route runs from a parent who already holds a permit to the child.

여기는 어떤 곳인가

Romania is safer on the peace index than Italy or France and costs less than half what Western Europe does — but Bucharest’s international schools are priced against expatriate salaries rather than against local ones, at €18,000 to €28,000 a year. As across most of this region, no status attaches to being a parent; one has to hold a permit in their own right.

절차는 이렇습니다

1

A parent secures a residence permit

Employment, business or study; the child follows as a family member.

⏱ 1–3 months
2

Apply to schools in Bucharest

The international market is essentially two schools deep.

⏱ 3–6 months

가족들이 모이는 곳

Bucharest (Pipera, Băneasa)
Where both international schools and the expatriate housing are
Cluj-Napoca
A university city with a technology sector and far lower rents
