Haileybury Astana publishes a full schedule — KZT 16,762,000 a year at Years 7–9 and KZT 18,496,000 at Years 10–13, about USD 37,000–41,000 — but it is a British public-school franchise at the top of the market and no mid-market international school in Astana or Almaty publishes a comparable schedule, so a median cannot be formed from one point. The Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools, which teach partly in English and take the academically strongest children, are a state network and cost a fraction of this.

At the top of the band because the digital-nomad route is genuinely open to someone with income and no employer.

What it is like here

Kazakhstan sits forty-fourth for peacefulness — above Italy, the United Kingdom and Chile — with living costs around a third of Western Europe’s and a Korean community that has been there for generations. What is thin is the school market: one British franchise publishes fees at the very top of the range and nothing in the middle publishes at all, which is why this page carries no tuition figure.
