Tuition~$22–26.6k/yr

Two Amman schools publish and agree. International Community Schools publishes 2025-26 tuition of US$22,019 for Years 7–9, US$24,877 for Years 10–11 and US$26,557 for Years 12–13; the American Community School, via the US Department of State’s fact sheet carrying the school’s figures, published $21,100 for grades 6–8 and $26,380 for grades 9–12 in 2023-24. Both charge a substantial one-off capital or assessment fee on top.

Pathoff judgement directed by evidence, not computed from it: the country’s position comes from the World Bank household consumption price level for 2024 (0.452 of the United States, CC BY 4.0 — the ICP benchmark carried forward annually by the World Bank’s own method); the US reference budget is ours. See the Pathoff method, section 12.

Guardian visaA parent needs a work, business or property basis

Pathoff outcome rubric (the Pathoff method, section 10-1), early outcome band "Partial or conditional access": No guardian status exists, but residence permits are granted on employment, business and property ownership, and a parent who has one of those can hold a permit for the whole school career with family attached. Mid-band because nothing is available on income alone.

What it is like here

Amman has more good international schools than any city in the Levant, English is everywhere in the professional class, and the whole thing costs about two thirds of the UAE. Jordan is also demonstrably stable — sixty-eighth on the peace index in a neighbourhood that is not. The limit is what a parent can hold: there is no guardian route and no income category.

How the process works

1

A parent obtains a residence basis

Employment, a registered business or property ownership; there is no guardian category.

3–6 months
2

Choose among a genuinely deep school market

Amman has IB, British and American curricula at several price points, all publishing fees.

3–6 months

Where families cluster

Amman (Abdoun, Dabouq)
The international schools and most of the foreign community
Madaba
Quieter and cheaper, half an hour from the Amman schools
