Single student, all in — deliberately the same figure as the degree page. It is the same person living the same way; only the training differs. Compared at country level, so capital cities and large metros run higher. The price level behind it prices the basket residents buy, and a foreign renter cannot reach the cheap end of local housing — poorer countries may still sit too low here.

Ferrandi Paris publishes a fee of about €15,100 a year for its culinary and pastry programmes; Le Cordon Bleu Paris publishes about €60,000 for the full Grand Diplôme taken over three terms. This figure sits between the two, annualised.

Pathoff judgement directed by evidence, not computed from it: the country’s position comes from the World Bank household consumption price level for 2024 (0.776 of the United States, CC BY 4.0 — the ICP benchmark carried forward annually by the World Bank’s own method); the US reference budget is ours. See the Pathoff method, section 12.

Pathoff education rubric (the Pathoff method, section 9-2), special band "A global name in the field": In cookery and pâtisserie the Paris institutions are among the two or three the industry itself names anywhere in the world, and graduates are recruited internationally on the school alone. At the foot of the band because it holds for food and hospitality specifically, not for vocational training here generally.

Industry accessNothing follows the diploma

Pathoff outcome rubric (the Pathoff method, section 10-3), special outcome band "A route that needs an employer": Judged on its own and it lands well below the degree route, because the twelve-month job-search permit attaches to a master’s degree and a culinary diploma is not one. Mid-band: an employer can sponsor a work permit, but nothing is available without one.

What it is like here

For cookery, pastry and hospitality, France is not one option among several — the schools here are what the industry means by the profession, and their graduates are hired worldwide on the name. The price is that the specialist institutes are expensive and that finishing one gives you no right to stay: the post-study permit follows a master’s, not a diploma.

How the process works

1

Decide between the diploma and a degree-bearing programme

Only the latter opens the post-study permit, and the schools offer both.

Timing not confirmed
2

Student visa through Études en France

Private institutes route non-EU students through the same portal.
