Single student, all in — deliberately the same figure as the degree page. It is the same person living the same way; only the training differs. Compared at country level, so capital cities and large metros run higher. The price level behind it prices the basket residents buy, and a foreign renter cannot reach the cheap end of local housing — poorer countries may still sit too low here.

Tuition~$0.3–10.8k/yr

Individual published figures for the Ciclo Formativo de Grado Superior: public centres charge registration fees that generally do not exceed €300 for the academic year, while private centres average around €3,000 and can reach €10,000. Recorded at the €3,000 private-centre average, which is the route a foreign student without a place at a public centre takes.

Pathoff judgement directed by evidence, not computed from it: the country’s position comes from the World Bank household consumption price level for 2024 (0.637 of the United States, CC BY 4.0 — the ICP benchmark carried forward annually by the World Bank’s own method); the US reference budget is ours. See the Pathoff method, section 12.

Pathoff education rubric (the Pathoff method, section 9-2), special band "Internationally credible": Spanish culinary and hospitality training is recognised well beyond the region by the industry that hires from it, and design and fashion schools here have international standing. At the foot of the band because that reputation attaches to the cuisine and a handful of institutions rather than to the vocational system.

Industry accessEmployer needed; the job-search route starts at degree level

Pathoff outcome rubric (the Pathoff method, section 10-3), special outcome band "A route that needs an employer": Judged on its own. The job-search authorisation requires a qualification at EQF Level 6, which a Grado Superior is not, so a vocational graduate needs an employer to sponsor a work authorisation directly.

What it is like here

Spanish gastronomy training is genuinely world-class and the country’s public vocational system charges registration fees rather than tuition, which makes it one of the cheapest routes into a serious trade anywhere on this site. The limit is the exit: the graduate job-search authorisation starts at degree level, so a vocational qualification leaves you needing an employer.

How the process works

1

Decide public or private early

Public centres are near-free but allocate places by academic record; private ones admit directly.

2–6 months
2

Student visa for courses over 90 days

The same consular route as a degree.

1–3 months

Where the training is

Madrid / Barcelona
